Eligibility Criteria

  • The family’s total annual income from all sources must not exceed ₹3,50,000.
  • The scholarship is open to ambitious, diligent, and focused students who wish to pursue their education but face financial barriers.
  • This scholarship is available to students at both school and collegiate levels.

Financial Based

This scholarship prioritizes students demonstrating financial need, assessed through their family’s income level or financial situation via an application process. The total scholarship amount will be determined annually at the start of the financial year, establishing the available funds for distribution each year.

Selected students will receive support until they complete their school curriculum. In exceptional cases, the scholarship may extend to undergraduate or postgraduate programs that lead to significant personal achievements.

The funds have specific restrictions on their usage, aimed at covering educational institution fees, after-school course fees, and educational aids only. There will be no direct financial transactions between awardees and SVN Trust. The trust and its representatives will ensure that each financial award maximizes its benefit to society.

Long-term Impact

The primary goal of the scholarship program is to empower talented students to become future leaders, professionals, and change-makers in their fields. By offering financial support and opportunities for personal growth, the program aims to create a lasting positive impact on individuals, their families, and the wider community.

Selection of scholarship candidates

Candidates will be identified by the head of the school or college and subsequently interviewed by the selection committee or a representative of the trust. Students must demonstrate high intellectual capability, clear attainment goals, and the ability to show compassion and empathy towards others.

Leadership and Extracurricular Involvement

Students are expected to demonstrate leadership skills and actively participate in extracurricular activities, including sports, clubs, and community service. This criterion highlights their ability to manage time effectively and make positive contributions to their community. The trust will encourage scholarship recipients to engage in community service and will monitor their involvement, assessing the impact of these initiatives through periodic reports from the institution.

Progress Towards Goals

The SVN scholarship program expects students to make steady progress toward their academic or career goals. This includes achieving specific milestones, participating in internships or research projects, and demonstrating growth in targeted areas. To ensure continuous progress, the school head will play a crucial role by providing feedback on the candidates’ development and supporting their comprehensive growth.

Note on Progress

Academic progress will be assessed based on individual future aims and objectives, as well as ambition. Students are required to submit an annual statement (for high school criteria). Typically, the continuation of the scholarship does not necessitate another interview; however, an interview may be requested in exceptional circumstances.

Disbursal of Scholarship

No funds will be directly provided to the individual. The scholarship will be used to pay school or college tuition fees directly to the respective educational institution. However, there is a provision for purchasing educational support aids, which can be reimbursed upon submission of suitable evidence. The final discretion for the disbursal of the scholarship rests with the SVN Trust.

Reporting and Communication

Once a candidate is selected for the scholarship, the SVN Trust requires the candidate to email detailed bio-data and a photograph to svneducationaltrust@gmail.com before the agreed funds are released. The bio-data should outline medium- to long-term goals year by year. Both the student and the institution are expected to submit separate annual reports to the trust, highlighting how these goals have been met to ensure the continuation of the scholarship for the next academic year.

It is also desirable for the school and students to provide at least one regular report or update on their progress, achievements, or challenges each academic year. Individual students should communicate their progress and achievements via the provided email, including necessary evidence to reassure the trustees that adequate goals are being met.

Renewal of scholarship

The trust will renew the scholarship for the next academic year based on the progress the student has made in the previous year and the recommendations of the heads of the institution.
